Cute Printable Activity & Hot Chocolate Recipes To Keep You Warm!!
My hopes went out the window when I turned on the news to see that Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow…no…no…no…Phil! No 6 more weeks of winter anymore! We are frozen enough! My car is only 3 years old and it almost didn’t start the other morning because it was so cold! Alas we must accept the things we cannot change…right? Might as well make the best of it and embrace it…
Just then my daughter had asked me for hot chocolate. The funny part about that request is she does not like hot chocolate at all. She only likes the mini marshmallows I put in it. The other day I found this adorable “Hot Chocolate Counting Mats” by The Measured Mom (click here for a FREE printable copy for personal use). This kept her busy for an hour while I wrote this post! She practiced her counting skills; simple addition (as she placed the mini marshmallows on the cards) & subtraction (as she ate them). She also shuffled the cards around arranged them in different orders; such as numeric order, odds, evens, etc. Of course the best part of this activity was clean up time! She put all the marshmallows back in her bowl, grabbed her cup of milk and ate her snack!
